I would like to give this place another try, at lunch maybe, but hubby won't come back. I only leave 2 stars for this reason: I realize being out of ingredients is the fault of the management and the wait staff should have been made aware - however- the waitress we had never even offered an apology for either situation -( not even when she belatedly reported the ingredient situation to us,) which I actually would have preferred to the comped meal. I will say the food the rest of us received was good. He pretty much didn't have anything to eat the whole time we were there and we went through the McDonald's drive thru for him since nothing else was open at that hour. To further complicate things, he is Type 1 diabetic, so we had to make sure to feed him enough from our plates to feed his insulin. Unfortunately the steak was rare and for him, inedible. Because he had ordered later, we were told his meal would be out after ours - and it was - after the rest of us had finished ours - about 20 minutes. About ten minutes after we ordered the waitress came back to tell us they were out of bbq sauce - so he ordered a medium well steak. My husband is the non seafood eater in the family so he ordered bbq wings. It could be they were having an off night. Would I go here again.NO! My daughter and I decided to share the $28.99 steak dinner and a shrimp dinner so we could make our own surf and turf. (?) When we looked at the menu they had one steak to offer, only one. I should have stopped there but Andy mentioned the Key Lime Pie and I had to have a slice of that. There were several items of interest on the menu, but I wanted the fried butterfly shrimp which came with plenty of seasoned french fries and a small cup of coleslaw. He was very knowledgeable of the menu items and checked with me frequently to see if I had any needs or questions. I sat outside and a young man named Andy serviced my table. The developers describe Paper as a “wall of sticky notes for everything that inspires you,” and that’s a very apt description. Excel on iPad Pro is honestly better than it is on Microsoft’s mobile devices, which says a lot for the company’s commitment to iOS. Each week, the Friday Five takes a quick look at a Mac OS X or iOS app to point out five things you may have overlooked before. It’s the end of the week, but that doesn’t mean an end to learning more about your favorite Apple devices. Of course, I could have indeed missed something obvious in which case pointers certainly appreciated. It also seems like LibreElec/Kodi might want to to have some way to change the default PowerOff events to directly trigger a power state, without having to bring up the menu first. However it seems that if I hadn't had a couple of old IR remotes to learn some IR commands from, I would have had no way to teach the Harmony and Flirc how to do this. So now I have Kodi suspending and the Chromebox resuming with discrete IR codes. I then taught the Harmony that same IR command, calling it "Suspend", and added it as the power-off command for my Flirc/Kodi device. I took yet another old IR remote for a piece of hardware I no longer had installed, and trained the Flirc to map that remote's power IR command to CTRL-F12, and then used the following keymap.xml: Almost everything can be done from the couch with the remote, not having to get the keyboard out is a big bonus to the WAF. I have my 650 set up very similarly and it works awesome. So I eventually followed the advice of this Flirc forum post. Warner306 from the forums put together this awesome guide for setting up a Logitech Harmony Remote for Windows. In order to force the Chromebox to suspend, I originally tried to change the default behavior in the Keymap by creating my own /storage/.kody/userdata/keyampas/keymap.xml and setting: Once done, the Chromebox only wakes on that specific IR command, and nothing else. I then trained the Flirc by mapping that IR code to "Wake" in the Kodi controller. I eventually solved this by taking an old IR remote I had from a device I no longer had installed, and creating a new Harmony button I named "Resume" and training it with that old remote IR command, and set up the Harmony Flirc/Kodi device with that same code to Power On. And programmable to learn the radio frequencies of an LED controller. I'm looking for a remote that can be used for both. So even though there's a Flirc "Wake" event (on the Kodi or Full keyboard controller profiles), I had no corresponding Harmony function/button to map to it. Are the Harmony remotes programmable using radio frequency and infrared The LED controller I use is radio frequency and the Flirc for Kodi is infrared. However, there are "Power On" or "Resume" events in the Harmony Flirc/Kodi profile (Just PowerOff). And interestingly the ability to toggle that in the Flirc Advanced menu remained grayed out (not sure why). When I installed the Flirc GUI on a Windows box to program it, it upgraded the firmware on my Flirc, after which it no longer responded to any generic IR event it saw to wake up the Chromebox. so I'm posting here in hopes that it helps others (the other posts I could find on this are rather old), as well as to see if I just missed something obvious.įirstly, just plugging the Flirc in to my Chromebox running Kodi(LibreElec), and setting it up as a Flirc/Kodi device in MyHarmony initially worked pretty seamlessly for control functions, however there were two issues: 1) Any IR command would resume the Chromebox if suspended, and 2) the PowerOff functionality brought up the Kodi power menu, wherein you had to navigate to a selection. So, I finally got all of this working, but seems like I had to jump through several hoops for what I assume would be somewhat default behavior everyone should want. The first is that you have something you want to use as an icon. I'm not making a lot of assumptions, but I am making a few, and they're all critical. What Assumptions I Am Making In This Tutorial ICO because this will give us platform-interchangeable icon image file data. However, for purposes of this tutorial, we're going to focus exclusively on. Over the years, various Linux desktop environments have come to embrace a number of options, including. Here is a Wikipedia article which takes a deeper dive into. Microsoft created a container file format which can store either BMP or PNG data called ICO. For purposes of a storage device itself (a hard drive, a USB flash drive, etc.) you need two things: an information file, called "autorun.inf", that defines which specific image file to use as a device's custom icon and of course an appropriate image file for that purpose. Now, I do not know and will not pretend to know the precise histories for Windows' and the various Linux desktop environments' use of icons and the means to edit or otherwise customize them, but what I can say is that largely they work the same. Suffice it to say that the processes for using custom icons in Classic Mac OS / Mac OS X / macOS, and icons for Linux and Windows, are mutually exclusive and have to be done separately. Because this tutorial does not concern Apple's processes, I am not going to include how-to instructions relative to them. their desktop environment) and so adding a custom icon could now be accomplished by copy-n-pasting (and desk accessories transitioned into becoming actual independent, mini-programs instead of embedded resource micro-programs). However, starting with System 7 and moving forward into Systems 8 and 9, Apple gradually pushed some of this functionality into the Finder (i.e. Its user interface roughly resembles old-school file managers, as well as many FTP programs. Users wanting to add or remove fonts or desk accessories from their operating system, up through Mac OS 6.x, would use a specialized resource editing program called Font/DA Mover. One of the most widely-used programs for doing this last-mile work was ResEdit. This had the advantage of guaranteeing their program's user interface always had access to that font, and no additional action needed to be taken by the end user. As another example, some programs required specific fonts, and so a font would be created or otherwise acquired by the author, and using the same process just described, would embed the font in their program. For example, one might have made a program with sounds for user interface elements, or sounds for a game. Once a sound was created and saved, that file would be opened using a special utility called a resource editor, the sound component copied, and then pasted inside of the program one was making which needed that sound. Two classic examples of this are fonts and sounds, but this broadly applies to a wide variety of resource types. The Macintosh platform has traditionally used the method of embedding resources within a file (or a program) as a way of containing them. Even though this tutorial is about creating icon files for Linux and Windows, I want to start with some brief comments about Classic Mac OS, Mac OS X, and macOS, mostly to explain what the difference is. While I would recommend you read through it, if you are an experienced user of technology, you can skip to section 2 to dig into the process.Įver since the beginning of graphical user interfaces, there has been a need for icons, and in turn there's been a need for a data format as well as a mechanism to associate the image with the object to be represented. This article is broken up into 3 sections, the first of which is general background information. Do you want to use GIMP to create your own custom icon files for use in many different Linux desktop environments, and/or Windows? If so, this is the article you are looking for.
